Overview

Award winning creative media company who partner with leading international companies are recruiting a finance manager or financial controller to join their team on a 6 month fixed term contract. Reporting to the Finance Director and working closely with Operations Director you be responsible for the day to day management of the accounts team of 5. This is a varied role, with a focus on day to day department management and all aspects of managing the company’s finances. Key responsibilities: Day to day department management of 5 staff, including direct line management of Financial Accountant and Project Accountant Review of all areas of reporting, financial and management, budget review and target setting, variance analyses and forecasting, monthly Weekly cashflow management, review and presentation to Finance Director, working closely with Financial Accountant Development and production of board report packs for all operational departments and company overview (finance report), including the presentation of an executive summary at the monthly board meeting Regular meetings with department heads to review profitability and forecasts to assist with their report commentary Project Accounting - closely working with operational managers to develop a system to accurately and efficiently report on project performance Production of payroll reports, working closely with HR, for processing by a payroll administrator and review of final payroll, preparing for FD signoff Some aspects of banking (high level) Other ad hoc analysis, scenario planning such as pricing models, as required Upkeep and review of company financial policies Ensuring compliance and controls currently in place being maintained adequately with consideration for improvement Specific requirements during the assignment Development and implementation of new staff expenses policy, to be rolled out to company Introduction and management of new company policy to meet IR35 requirements Assist in production and possible implementation of a risk management strategy Role requirements: Part/Fully qualified or QBE - 10 years in similar role Strong communication skills - both written and verbal Experience of explaining financial information to non-financial managers Understanding and experience of long term contracts would be beneficial or work in a similar industry Excellent excel skills - management of large data and strong on report presentation Good understanding of commerciality, able to focus on accuracy but simultaneously to take a high level view Would suit hardworking, positive, multi-tasker, with a practical and problem-solving approach and a good people person Salary: £70,000 to £75,000 pro rata working 30 hours a week
