Performance Lead UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), Swindon or London £48,877- £54,308 (Plus London allowances equalling to £4,945 if based in London) Open Ended Full Time This role can be based in either Swindon or London. We have a number of exciting opportunities available to become part of the UKRI Corporate Strategy and Governance team – a dynamic new team working across the whole organisation to lead our approach to corporate strategy and good governance. The Performance Lead will design, develop, and communicate UKRI’s corporate performance management systems. Performance spans the full range of UKRI activity including strategy, corporate functions (e.g. finance, HR, the funding service, data and technology) the 9 Councils, cross-cutting funds (e.g. Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund) and outcomes/impact. The role will offer you the opportunity to work closely and collaboratively with a range of teams across UKRI, BEIS and other government departments. It will require regular interaction with senior managers, CEO, Executive Committee and Board. Key responsibilities of the role include: Support the leadership in developing and implementing a new corporate planning and performance framework Build, motivate and manage a high performing, adaptive and resilient team of performance and planning specialists of around 4-5 staff Develop relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across UKRI and Government colleagues to foster an inclusive and joined-up approach to corporate planning and performance. To succeed in this role you will have experience of working in a corporate performance management role with an in-depth understanding of the opportunities and challenges in this area, as well as the ability to think strategically and translate this into actionable plans. You will also have well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to bring these perspectives together to gain a wider picture of the landscape surrounding activities and policies. Experience providing professional advice to senior staff, including a willingness to challenge is essential.
