To find out more about how we champion diversity and inclusion in the workplace, visit: Overview of the job HMPPS's efforts to tackle corruption are integral to delivering safe and secure prisons and probation. HMPPS has worked with MoJ to identify that a new approach is needed to ensure we remain resilient to this key operational threat. HMPPS has developed a future strategy for tackling corruption in HMPPS based on four key objectives: * 'Protect' against corruption by building an open and resilient organisation; * 'Prevent' people from engaging in corruption, strengthen professional integrity; * 'Pursue' and punish those who are corrupt; and * 'Prepare' for corruption, reducing its impacts on our teams. These objectives will need to be delivered at every level through prisons and probation, in particular strengthening our resilience on the front line. Security, Order and Counter Terrorism (SOCT) Directorate is taking forward improvements, including restructuring the Counter Corruption Unit, to provide senior operational leaders, prisons and probation teams with an improved counter-corruption service. This role sits in the newly restructured Counter Corruption Unit (CCU). Its objectives are to support prisons and probation to manage corruption threats, in particular supporting establishments to prevent corruption within HMPPS. The post holder is responsible for leading on the assurance process on behalf of the Counter Corruption Unit. They will be line managed by the Head of Performance and Strategy and will have line management responsibility of 2 Band 5 staff. This is a non-operational role. Summary The post holder is responsible for providing assurance to the Head of the Counter Corruption Unit and Head of Performance and Strategy on performance and assurance processes. The post holder will provide support to the Counter Corruption Regional teams surrounding managing performance and assurance. This will include Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs). The post holder will co-ordinate Quarterly Performance Agreement Reviews with the Head of the Counter Corruption Unit and Head of Performance and Strategy that processes and procedures are being effectively managed. The post holder will build relationships and engage with various internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that the Head of the Counter Corruption Unit and Head of Performance and Strategy's vision and expectations are managed and met accordingly. Responsibilities, Activities & Duties The job holder will be required to carry out the following responsibilities, activities and duties: * Manage governance and assurance arrangements for the Counter Corruption Unit including the CCU Strategic Plan, Risk Register, Consolidated Action Plan and Assurance Framework. * Manage Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) on behalf of the Head of the Counter Corruption Unit and Head of Performance and Strategy. * Prepare information for bi-lat reports on behalf of the Head of the Counter Corruption Unit and Head of Performance and Strategy. * Engage with the Data Working Group, including attendance at meetings, providing reports and submitting data requests. * Provide CCU performance oversight and direction setting. * Carry out regular assurance visits to the regional CCU teams, working with the Head of Pursue and Prevent and providing support and guidance around performance, governance and assurance - providing a report following the visit. * Quality assure Regional CCU action plans. Completion of HMIP OSAG cover sheet. * HMIP communications with Governors and MoJ/OSAG liaison. * Management of LTHSE HMIP tracker and assess risks. * Co-ordinate and chair regional Performance and Assurance meetings. * Management of Hours Worked in Industry Notice of Change (NoC) process. * Dip test completed actions on the Counter Corruption Unit's action plans and data quality. * Analyse and monitor data recorded on the Performance Hub. * Provide line management to a small team of staff.
