Commercial/IP Legal Assistant job in Bristol - top tier firm - 6-month FTC Your new company Our client is a truly prominent player in the legal sector, with offices around the UK. They have an opportunity for a Commercial/IP Legal Assistant to join their Bristol office on a 6-month FTC basis, with the potential to be extended. Your new role You will provide legal advice to clients regarding various aspects of trade mark and design applications, including where to file, what to protect, filing strategies and advice regarding 3rd party registrations. You will advise on and draft suitable specifications for trade mark applications and file applications in the UK, EU and internationally. Other duties will include: All aspects of trade mark and design renewals, including preparing renewal schedules, liaising with clients, and managing payments Confident in dealing with clients, external counsel, and IPOs by phone and email Formalities tasks such as recordal of assignments, changes of name and so on Preparing and filing trade mark and design applications, dealing with straightforward examination queries Dealing with IPO correspondence, monitoring deadlines and diary dates Ad hoc tasks such as assisting with due diligence projects Preparing reports for clients What you'll need to succeed You will ideally be an experienced formalities candidate who has completed the trademark administrators' course, but experience is more important. You will be a confident and able communicator who is well-organised and has excellent attention to detail. You will be hardworking and able to adapt in an ever-changing working environment. An interest in commercial/IP is essential and the LPC qualification is advantageous however not pre-requisites. Attitude and personality as well as good academics are key.
