Overview
Express Recruitment are working on behalf of a UK leading engineering consultancy in Nottingham. Due to steady and continued financial growth, our client are actively seeking a commercially astute and tech savvy Lead Proposal Engineer to work alongside their Sales and Development Team. In return our client offering a competitive starting salary of up to c£35,000 plus various other benefits. Duties and Responsibilities: Work closely with the Sales Team to help generate new business and opportunities Consult frequently with customers in order to understand their requirements and develop concept products and prototypes based on your findings Develop detailed concepts and costings with reference to previous work undertaken and produce detailed technical proposals and bids Work closely with the Development and Manufacturing departments in order to maintain an up to date knowledge and understanding of advanced manufacturing techniques within automation Work across various projects simultaneously, ensuring each are delivered within the specified timeframes Read and interpret complex engineering and CAD machine diagrams that include layouts for electro-mechanical systems, conveyors and special purpose equipment Monitor budgets against project costs and ensure they are delivered within the specified financial constraints Travel to various customer sites when necessary and manage own diary effectively Qualifications and Experience: Degree qualified in mechanical, electrical or similar engineering discipline Demonstrable mechanical design experience Proficient user of Solidworks 2D & 3D and other CAD packages Previous experience of working with special purpose, material handling and automation equipment strongly desirable Confident technical ability of operating and understanding the concepts of electro-mechanical systems, robotics, CNC machinery and other automated equipment Confident negotiation skills with experience of working with proposals and tenders Excellent negotiation skills on all senior levels of the business If you know you have the required skills and experience and would like to find out more please apply now.
