Overview

Communicate are retained on a Finance Manager position with one of the most exciting FinTech's on the market. The firm has just received their series A from their highly reputable VCs, and are turbo driving their expansion. The firm operate in the payments industry and have developed market leading technology Both the Co-Founders are brilliantly intelligent with proven experience of growing start-ups globally and as such, have generated significant traction already in a highly saturated market. This role reports into their newly appointed CFO who will be an amazing individual to learn and develop off. Responsibilities include: - Build a team of 2-4 staff, manage the global finance function and report directly to the CFO. - Lead the month end close process and review of monthly management accounts to ensure accurate and timely financial information is provided to the exec team and the board. - Management of all financial accounting, including evaluation of the work performed by members of the team. - Control cash resources ensuring funds are run effectively throughout the group. - Consideration as to currency management to minimise exposure to currency fluctuations. - Responsible for all statutory reporting requirements in line with Companies House and HMRC in the UK as well as the Canadian, US and Indian authorities. - Responsible for shareholder reporting requirements, usually on a monthly basis. - Liaise with Tax advisers as required. - Preparing for and management of the external audit process and liaison with the auditors. - Work with the business analyst, drive improved commercial initiatives through supporting the other areas of the business and providing financial insight. - Continually improve the control environment and governance within the finance team and the wider business through effective policies and processes. - Look to constantly improve and evolve the financial function including reporting, systems and processes. - Be an ambassador for the department and escalation point for Finance queries. The firm’s preference is for an individual looking to make their first (or second) move from practice ideally from a top-mid tier practice with experience in accounting as well as external audit. Overall requirements include: - Good communication skills - ability to articulate complex information so that it can be easily understood by the business. - Strong commercial analysis / modelling skills - with the ability to develop insight to drive decision making. Able to deliver high quality and accurate work. - Influencing skills - evidence of proactively challenging and influencing. - Confidence and ability to build trust and strong working relationships. - A highly motivated self-starter. - Ability to deliver with a flexible approach when required. - Strong IT skills, particularly Excel and comfortable using Powerpoints
