Transport and Logistics Coordinator - Birmingham Competitive Salary Depending on Experience The Company My client, a leading global company are looking for a Transport and logistics coordinator to join their new location in the midlands. The Role Responsibilities Obtain quotes and make decisions regarding the procurement of goods and services for the fleet and warehouse in accordance with the procurement policy Monitoring driver and warehouse performance in relation to bonus allowances and providing confirmation if targets have been met to the line manager Deploy staff and vehicles based on cost, time and legal requirements Monitor the care, maintenance and servicing of all vehicles in the vehicle fleet Monitor the care, maintenance and service for all telematics systems and recording technology for digitally collecting data Carry out employee interviews with respect to operations, e.g. vehicle damage, customer complaints, etc. Work closely with all operational positions to constantly meet customer requests, taking into account profitability and internal work instructions Process internal vehicle fleet documentation Participate in the development of the professional vehicle fleet Highlight opportunities to improve quality and continually contribute to improvements to work processes Keep track of SaCon and Wipe stocks and order new SaCons or Wipes in line with warehouse stock procedures Keep track of stocks of all other goods in warehouse such as personal protective equipment, pallets, etc. and limit amounts and types in line with warehouse stock procedures Permanent contact partner within the site for all drivers and employees of the site for decisions that need to be made quickly Conduct return-to-work discussions Tour lists from the hubs are brought to customer service via the Transport Coordinator Operational handling including coordination with external logistics specialist Operational implementation of shuttle/road traffic (ascertaining internal and external traffic (e.g. to/from the hubs or washing facilities)) Experience Qualification requirements Strong logisitics, transport coordinator experience Excellent IT skills Previous warehouse experience would be beneficial Forklift license would be desireable Willingness to help out in the warehouse on an ad hoc basis Good communication, organizational, time management mathematical skills Dependable and Reliable Inventory, Equipment maintenance, data entry and computer skills may be required Important Information: We endeavour to process your personal data in a fair and transparent manner.
