The Clearing Risk Department of ICE Clear Europe (ICEU) is the 1st line of defense risk function that assesses all Credit and Market Risk Requirements and ensures adequate resources are posted against Clearing Member accounts, conducts ongoing identification and monitoring of risk and performs daily validations and controls. The department comprises Credit Team and Market Risk Team covering all asset classes, memberships and the operational risks that are in scope for the departments. Job Purpose The Operational Risk Manager will be responsible of the Operational Risk team within the Clearing Risk Risk Department of ICE Clear Europe (ICEU). The candidate will be responsible for enhancing, managing and executing the daily operation of the Clearing Risk processes. Responsibilities include monitoring of intraday and end of day counterparty risk exposures; support production of 1st line market risk reporting; managing margin parameters updates, and keeping procedures and manual documentation up to date. It also involves conducting operational risk assessments and drive technology and system changes where necessary. The role has extensive exposure to various stakeholders with the Clearing Risk Department but also with the '2nd Line of Defence' team, the Clearing Operation Team and the Global Technology team, and provides a rare opportunity to leverage skillsets and experiences of operational and process oriented risks in the context of applying complex market risk management concepts in a systemically important financial institution, as well as in depth specific experience of financial derivatives. Responsibilities Manage and mentor a small team of analysts. Monitor intraday and End-of-Day counterparty exposures. Manage all Margin Requirements Calls and ensure timely collection. Manage all Risk Parameters Update Process. Ensure implementation of adequate controls, validation and escalation processes. Define business requirements and specifications for system upgrades and enhancements. Management of existing documentations and processes. Manage the introduction of new contracts across all asset classes in relation to Market Risk. Manage and produce all Market Risk reports. Interaction with the various Stakeholder in the Market Risk team, Clearing Operation Team, 2nd line of defence, the ICE Exchange and Global Technology Team. Contribute strongly to "hands-on" and ad-hoc requests for development and solutions in time-critical situations. Documentation and presentation of key risk processes and risk reports internally and externally. Support Default Management Exercise. Assist with Audit and Independent Validation process. Manage the Market Risk Business Continuity Plan and Operational Risk Self Assessment. Support any external request. Knowledge and Experience Experience involved in Market Risk management in a bank or clearinghouse. Managerial experience required. Experience in market risk specifically in the context of derivatives contracts is a must. Working knowledge of VaR and Derivatives Pricing is a must. Must demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills Must have very good attention to detail oriented and be process oriented. Proven record applying or implementing complex operational risk processes. The successful candidate should be a team player, capable of working under pressure within a diverse team, operating in several time zones to tight deadlines.
