Senior System Analyst- FTC
Overview
Our client is a prestigious pensions company who is seeking a Senior System Analyst to join their Reading team on a Fixed Term Contract. About the role We want to develop a market leading proposition around providing information to these members This information will sometimes be scheme wide - messages and content that apply to all members - and sometimes member specific (information on their individual pensions savings and benefits) All of this will be delivered by a website - which we are calling 'the member portal' The project lifecycle is from conceptual ideas to an implemented solution Delivering to potentially thousands of members, in both DB and DC schemes The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and ambitious, with a real desire to help us deliver a market-leading web technology solutions (agnostic in nature) to our clients and their members. The candidate will be part of a small focussed team of specialists from a range of functions/businesses, including our Business Services Group, to deliver innovative and leading edge technology solutions that provide our clients with new approaches to help educate and engage with scheme members, Trustees and sponsors. We have provided a guide to the areas within the project that are key to the role: Data Management Working with the project team to create required data sets to support the key functionality within the new web portal. Manipulation of pension's data sets and the ability to create and map data to a common data format is going to be key aspect of this role. Familiarity with ETL processes and design is therefore critical and applicants should be familiar with SQL and SSIS. Throughout the project the Senior Systems Analyst is going to be responsible for the review of all data required to support the functionality and creating the necessary data extracts from a variety of data sources to support the work. In this regard applicants should be familiar with the reporting tools business applications provide when direct database access is not available. Understanding how report writer tools work and concepts such as domains and catalogues within these tools will be important if applicants are to be able to successfully extract data. Technical documentation, analytical reporting and supporting the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) should be expected. Skills and Knowledge Essential Right to work in the UK. Well organised and positive attitude with the ability to plan, prioritise and effectively manage their work. Good interpersonal skills. Excellent problem solving, organisational and planning skills. Ability to work well under pressure, across multiple workstreams; delivering to time and quality standards. Good oral and written communication skills, able to present technical matters to potential non-technical users.
