Overview
Senior Pricing Analyst Reading £40,000 to £50,000 benefits Our client, a leading insurer based in Reading, is currently looking for a Senior Pricing Analyst. The main purpose of the role is to assist the Pricing Manager in achieving their strategic objectives, providing risk pricing recommendations and insight based on leading modelling and analytical work. Responsibilities Maintain and develop best practice pricing models and price optimisation techniques. Ensure that rate adequacy is maintained by monitoring / reporting actual vs expected experience. Identify and utilise internal and external data within the pricing models. Analyse, evaluate and assess new rating factors and develop pricing structures incorporating these. Maintain an expert level of general technical knowledge of General Insurance products, and of the pricing and analysis tools available i.e. Radar and SAS. Apply predictive modelling expertise to a wide range of business problems beyond pricing. Actively manage pricing projects. Opportunity to manage up to two Analysts depending on experience. Provide ongoing support for the team, including feedback on their performance and behaviours. Requirements Graduate with a Degree in a numerate subject i.e. Mathematics, Physics, etc. Excellent numerical, analytical and problem solving skills. Must come from a General insurance background, with pricing experience. Experience of using Emblem or Radar or other data modelling tools such as: R, Python, SAS, SQL. An understanding, and experience of, statistical and mathematical techniques applicable in general insurance pricing, risk selection and analysis and/or: a background in data science, with particular experience in machine learning, statistical analysis and predictive modelling on large datasets. Strong communication skills. Ability to manage and prioritise given workload with business objectives for a small team. Ideally, you will have experience of managing a small team of Analysts, although this is not essential.
