Overview

Finance Executive: As a result of increased demand an exciting opportunity exists for an experienced process-driven, analytically minded Finance Executive to take on a broad-ranging finance role with a leading communications consultancy that specialise in solving complex problems in challenging environments across the globe. Albany Associates provide advice and training for governments, civil society organisations, and key leaders, tailored specifically to local circumstances and culture. They work closely with local partners to build grassroots resilience to the drivers of crisis and conflict working towards finding home-grown solutions to the problems that cause them. The successful Finance Executive will join a close-knit team in Central London offices taking primary responsibility for managing the payables ledger, bank postings and reconciliations, admin support and posting to and reconciling some client projects. Previous experience in a dynamic, multi-faceted finance-related position will be essential to succeed in this role. Key Responsibilities: Payables – verifying and posting supplier invoices into Xero including preparation and tracking of invoice approval forms. Preparing payments to suppliers online, answering queries and sending suppliers remittance advices. Many payments are international, so care and attention to is essential. Bank – daily reconciliation of all bank accounts and posting bank transactions into Xero. Preparation of cash flow forecasts and working closely with the FD on managing cashflow. Credit control on sales invoices (low numbers) Filing invoices and statements promptly and general admin support to the team. Analysing overhead nominal accounts. Working closely with colleagues at all levels to enable efficient posting and reporting. Posting and paying staff expenses. Support to the Project Accountants and to reconcile project costs on smaller projects Skills & Experience: Understands double entry and the structure of the P&L and Balance sheet – is numerate and can make and understand adjusting journals. A self-starter with good attention to detail. Able to focus on the work to be done with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities. Able to quickly reconcile accounts and compare actual to budget. Organised and efficient. Able to work in a busy and fast-moving office and under pressure. Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word and Outlook). Xero accounts experience preferable, or with a similar cloud accounts programme. Friendly and open, able to have a positive relationship with colleagues. Helpful and will be proactive in supporting colleagues. Conscientious, hardworking, reliable with good timekeeping. Integrity, honesty, reliability and confidentiality are key qualities.
