Overview

Head of Finance Central Birmingham We are currently recruiting for a Head of Finance on a permanent basis, located in Central Birmingham. My client is a respected and forward-thinking organisation, who are looking for a strategic and operational leader. Salary: £85,000 plus benefits. Please note: It is essential that the candidate is ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or CA qualified or has equivalent proven experience. Essential Requirements of the Head of Finance: You will oversee all financial reporting including consolidation, statutory accounts and Group reporting in an accurate, timely and compliant manner Overseeing and managing efficient, accurate, timely budgeting, forecasting and long-range business planning processes You will be able to ensure effective reporting and analysis is carried out, to assist the Board and the Senior Management Team in their strategic and operational decision-making Oversee and manage the Property Development accounting and reporting team, building strong relationships by providing professional commercial partnering & financial decision support Proactively support in the preparation, review/challenge and acquisition business options to ensure business decisions are viable and appropriate You will actively seek out and drive a process of continuous improvement within the finance teams, taking responsibility for the implementation of consistent and effective financial processes and controls Leading and motivating the Finance team and ensuring that they receive appropriate support, training and development to achieve their potential Assessing and, where applicable, implementing the products, services, technologies and systems appropriate to ensure the Group innovates and maintains modern and effective reporting, business partnering and transaction processing mechanisms. Knowledge, Skills and Experience required of the Head of Finance: Ability to solve complex problems that have a significant impact on operations or organisation capability. A proven and extensive track record of financial accounting, reporting, forecasting and development accounting. Good knowledge of FRS102, SORP and Accounting Directions. Sophisticated investment appraisal, financial modelling and business planning techniques. Ability to use complex financial systems with numerous interfaces from feeder systems. Technical and strategic financial management and accounting skills gained in a senior finance role within a large and/or complex organisation. Experience of operating in and meeting the requirements of a regulated context is desirable. Excellent commercial and technical awareness and acumen. High degree of accuracy, good analytical skills and strong attention to detail with a resourceful and energetic approach to problem solving. Well organised with an ability to prioritise and manage conflicting demands effectively. Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA/CA graduate calibre finance professional, or equivalent proven experience The ideal candidate for this position will have strong strategic and operational leadership skills, providing effective business partnering in pursuit of the achievement of strategic priorities.
