Overview
We are currently assisting our Coventry based client to recruit for a Project Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organisation and to work in a fast paced environment. The duties and responsibilities are: Provide administrative and costing support for the submission of high quality research funding applications, bids and tenders. This will include checking proposals against eligibility criteria; developing comprehensive costings for proposals, ensuring all costs are considered; and using funders' online submission systems. Ensure up to date and relevant advice and guidance on funding requirements, funder application processes, and university application processes is provided to all research active staff, personally and via electronic sources (such as a dedicated web portal). Act as the first point of contact for staff with funding requirements. Using your own initiative to offer advice where possible and signpost to colleagues within the Unit and the wider services in a timely and effective manner. Administer the internal bid selection processes; ensuring that the system operates efficiently and that data is kept up to date to support the aim of increasing the quality of submissions. Provide administrative support to the relationship management of a small number of named research funding organisations, including (for example) organising expert funder visits to the University. This will also include administering the University's membership of one of the key UK networks. Support the University's internal bid submission and approval processes, ensuring that data relating to bidding submissions and funding organisations is entered onto relevant databases and kept up-to-date. The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or possess A levels (A-C grade) or equivalent with demonstrable employment experience. You must have the ability to communicate to all levels including stakeholders via email/telephone and face to face. The successful candidate will need to be able to work using their own initiative with periods of reduced supervision. This is initially a 3 months assignment with the possibility of transferring to a permanent position for the right candidate.
