Overview

Quality Engineer - Electronics Up to £40,000 DOE company performance bonus We are looking for a Quality Engineer for our electronics client based in Lanarkshire, ideally someone who has experience of working in a manufacturing environment and who has an electronics background as well. You will have experience of using problem solving tools and completing investigations, and you would be joining a company with scope to develop further, complete LEAN Six Sigma training & potential to grow into a Quality Manager role. Working hours: Monday - Thursday 8.30am - 5.00pm, and Friday 8.30am - 12.30pm. Duties and responsibilities will include: Responsible for generating quality plans and planning of quality assurance tasks Ensuring investigations are conducted on product faults, supplier or customer issues Drive for longer term improvements to quality standards and manufacturing improvements Identify risks and critical issues with mitigation solutions with the aim of reducing rework Supporting audits and driving internal audit structure and requirements Ownership of quality management system and driving/supporting the update and release of documentation throughout the organisation Liaising with the Production Supervisor ensuring processes and WI’s are followed Working with the process owners and technical author to support the documentation of business processes and workflows when necessary Applicant requirements: Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment as a Quality Engineer Previous experience of managing quality systems and production standards Knowledge of ISO standards and in particular ISO 9001:2015 Practical knowledge of non-conformance management process Experience using Quality tools & techniques (8D, 5Y, PFMEA) Experience using EFACS an advantage Technical background; an understanding of industrial electronic systems and products would be an advantage Fast learner able to research and digest information from a range of sources, and gain sufficient understanding of new subject matter to be able to explain it to others Excellent knowledge of MS Office (macro script writing would be an advantage) Self-motivation and ability to work independently without supervision Excellent organisational skills, including multitasking and time-management Ability to train and influence others Applications will be treated with the strictest of confidence.
