The Deputy MLRO is a key part of the financial crime management team, primarily responsible for

supporting both 1LOD and 2LOD functions to maintain compliance financial crime frameworks. As a

key member of the risk management leadership team, you will have proven experience in dealing

with stakeholders at all levels, in order to achieve Altery discharge its legal and regulatory obligations

relating to financial crime

Responsibilities and Duties

● Provide the business with advice and guidance with respect to financial crime risk

management and financial crime regulatory interpretations

● Horizon scanning with respect to regulatory changes

● Working alongside the MLRO , risk and the financial crime operations to build out financial

crime risk assessments

● Delegated MLRO approvals, including screening, EDD and SARs

● Develop, implement and improve financial crime compliance policies and procedures

● Delivery of financial crime training

● Preparation of financial crime reporting and MI for both internal and external stakeholders

● Member and secretary of the Financial Crime Committee. Attendance at other management

committees and forums as required

● Deputise for the MLRO in their absence

Experience

● At least 6 years experience in a financial crime specialist role within banking or payments

● Relevant financial crime qualifications

● A good working knowledge of all financial crime typologies

● SME in the sanctions space preferred

● Held a senior financial crime manager/DMLRO position previously preferred

Skills

● strong interpersonal skills and skilled at communicating compliance and regulatory issues to

key stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.

● An eye for detail

● The ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure

● Confidence in communicating with people at all levels in the organisation`

● Excellent reporting writing skills

● Strong IT skills, including the ability to analyse large datasets and produce clear and detailed

management information

● Works well under pressure, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities at once
