Overview

We are now taking applications for our Apprenticeship programme which will start in September 2020. We are looking to employ, train and mentor 6 apprentices for our Advanced Technical Apprenticeship Scheme. By joining, you will be highly trained to work in the world of manufacturing in a variety of disciplines, acquring the skills, knowledge and competence to carry out a range of engineering and manufacturing processes within the cold rolling environment. Working week: Year 1: Mon-Thurs 8.00am-4.30pm & Fri 8.00am-12.30pm. Year 2: 37.75 hours Application Deadline: Friday 3rd April 2020 Apprenticeship Duration: 4 years Training to be provided: Engineering Basic Skills training – off the job full time at Make UK in Aston, Birmingham NVQ Level 3 BTEC Diploma Level 3 – Technical Certificate In house training in line with your requirements Employment Rights and Responsibilities Personal, learning and thinking skills award Outward Bound – team working skills – 1 week away from home and work What will you do? Gain relevant skills and job knowledge through the apprenticeship training scheme. Achieve relevant training qualifications. Attend regular training progress review meetings with Managers and Trainers. Attend day release college courses to achieve relevant technical certificates relating to apprentice job role. Record job reports for allocated placement and complete training checklists for future reference. Promote good health and safety within every training placement. Become capable in the use of a wide range of machine tools such as conventional and fully automated and state of the art machinery. What we're looking for; A passion for Engineering /Manufacturing Embraces personal challenges Good work ethic and flexible approach High levels of motivation and action orientated Ability to work well under pressure To be considered for the scheme it is essential you have; GCSE at Grade C / Level 4 or above in Maths, English Language and a Science subject. In addition you would also require a Design ,Technology, Engineering, or Creative related subject also at Grade C/ Level 4 or above. Other information: Upon completion of your apprenticeship, it is the intention you will become a permanent employee of Hadley Group. We promote continuous personal development for everyone working at the Hadley Group and would therefore be supportive of candidates should they want to progress onto a HNC/Degree. Depending on your rotational placement and chosen pathway, you may be required to work shift patterns during your apprenticeship which could be based across the Hadley Group sites (Smethwick & Oldbury) Future Prospects include; Toolmaker, CNC Machinist, Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Design Engineer, Commissioning Engineer, Research & Development Engineer, Commercial / Technical Sales If shortlisted, you must be available to attend an Assessment day which will be held on Tuesday 21st or Wednesday 22nd April.
