Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist - Lung Cancer
Overview
Job Description
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist managing patients with Lung Cancer you are required to have had significant relevant experience working in a cancer nursing role in this specialty. As part of a clinical team under the leadership and line management of Lead Nurse, you will be responsible for the delivery of a high-quality in- patient and outpatient clinics in a hospital setting. This will include pre-treatment counselling and screening, monitoring of therapy/clinical response, urgent intervention and admission avoidance consultations. You must have the ability to work independently and possess excellent communication skills to manage the collaborative telephone advice lines / triage of incoming calls, in- patient referrals, interface with hospital and community based clinicians and general practitioners, delivery of clinical support with a high level of interpersonal skills. You will be based at Inverclyde Royal Hospital and will work closely with Respiratory and Oncology Consultants. The shift pattern for this post is Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm.. It is essential that you are currently working in this field with significant post registration experience and possess or working towards both a clinical assessment qualification and a non-medical nurse prescribing certificate.
