MI Analyst - Southampton - £280 Umbrella - 6 months - Data SQL Report Crystal Business Objects GIS Excel Your new company A large public services department is urgently needing an MI Analyst to help drive forward their department's delivery through data reporting. Your new role Technical Management Information Analyst - this is within a niche team working on the implementation of a system. What you'll need to succeed To develop and deliver insight driven and complex analyses and reports, utilising information from multiple sources to provide a strong evidence base and a single version of the truth. To develop code, creating, amending, running and validating complex reports, ensuring high quality and timely management information and analytics are available to enable the department to support decision making, service delivery and transformation. To deliver statutory reporting programmes and develop, implement and embed performance management frameworks, datasets, systems and processes. To develop and deliver effective, streamlined and accurate data provision by creating, amending, running and validating complex SQL, PSQL and Crystal Reports, using Business Objects, GIS, SoMap, MapInfo and advanced Excel functionality and any other relevant technologies. To develop and deliver timely, accurate and accessible datasets, scorecards, reports and dashboards on operational, strategic and financial performance that enable the department to measure, manage and optimise performance, as well as meet all statutory and technical return requirements. To create, amend and validate SQL bulk upload scripts to address data quality issues or improve data provision. To join data from multiple information systems, creating integrated views as necessary, to improve data provision; to put automated processes in place to ensure consistent collection and data quality. To ensure all statutory and technical return requirements are delivered, to the highest quality standards. To undertake advanced data analysis, combining multiple data sources to identify trends, patterns and any deviations from expected performance levels; to produce reports which clearly identify causes and actions required. To provide support, guidance and training to managers and end users to ensure the effective use of data and management information across the organisation; to present data and analysis to senior managers and external partners. To challenge current levels of performance and drive continuous improvement, through the identification of exceptions, trends, the use of comparative data and the implementation of initiatives to improve value for money and outcomes for service users. A good rate of £250 to 280 a day Umbrella for 6 months.
