University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) Maternity Services are seeking to recruit Band 6 Midwives to work in this large and busy city service. The Maternity Services aim to offer a multitude of possibilities for career progression and professional development for those band 6 midwives who wish to expand their knowledge, experience and skills. Following the success of our bespoke Preceptorship Programme, we have seen a significant number of new midwifery recruits over the last 12 months. In turn, it is recognised that our Band 6 midwives play an essential role in supporting and mentoring junior team members and are a highly valued part of the workforce. The service recognises that band 6 midwives are our future aspiring leaders, managers and Specialist Practitioners and therefore we look to ensure that as a band 6 you receive appropriate training and education and appropriate supportive responsibility within the clinical settings to help you achieve your career development. In support of our strategy for supporting succession planning, Maternity Services are proud to have fully implemented Management Development Programme aimed specifically for band 6 midwives who are wishing to develop their midwifery career. This initiative has already proved extremely popular, whilst serving to promote an ethos of transparency and equality across the team, as well as a greater understanding of individual roles and responsibilities. WHAT YOU'LL DO The Maternity Services provides band 6 midwives with an excellent, comprehensive induction and bespoke development package to enable career progression with broad options for working across a variety of clinical settings. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated and flexible individuals who have a passion for midwifery. The successful candidate will be able to evidence professional integrity and an honest approach to embracing new and exciting opportunities and challenges that will be obtainable as they become part of the Maternity team.
