Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading production and manufacturing company based in Northamptonshire, they are seeking to employ a Quality Control Technician. This is a temp to perm position. Candidates must be flexible, as the staff in the department ROTATING shifts between them, 6.30am - 2pm and 2pm - 9.30pm. The purpose of the role is to quality control all incoming and outgoing raw materials and fragrance batches in good time, able to determine quality, support the production, record and investigate non conformances and reworking where possible. Duties will include: • Release raw materials , fragrance batches and laboratory batches after testing to specifications • Assist production with any queries relating to raw material or production batches • Proactive retesting of all batches and materials due • Problem solving and issue of clear rework instructions • Accurately reading and entering all data onto QC SYSTEM with due regard for specification • Record all non-conformances, reworking sand blending where possible • Obtain specifications from suppliers for raw materials and enter onto database • Keep QC SYSTEM updated and clean • Release and maintenance of materials and batches in Dynamics AX • Liaise with Customer services in the event of delays to batches • Keep workspace clean and tidy The ideal candidate would process the following skills: • Excellent sense of smell and pass the Company smelling assessment test with a pass mark of >16 • Excellent eye for detail • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure, in a team and as an individual • Good problem solving skills • Accurately record all data on database systems • Familiar with Microsoft systems an advantage but training will be given • Good time Management, full flexibility required to cover shifts • Good communicator at all levels • Own transport Company benefits • Bonus Scheme earning up to % of annual salary • Life Assurance Cover up to 4x annual salary • Pension • 25 days holiday and bank holidays Candidates must have excellent communication skills Start date ASAP Skills Required Quality control, excellent eye for detail, accurately recording details, Microsoft systems, customer service, good sense of smell, good time management, flexibility Keywords Quality control, excellent eye for detail, accurately recording details, Microsoft systems, customer service, good sense of smell, fragrance, laboratory, testing, specifications, data
