Overview
Stores Person 6 month fixed term contract with full time hours Arriva TrainCare provides Light and Heavy Train Maintenance services to the railway industry from its six strategically located maintenance depots. What will the role of Stores Person entail? Reporting to the Depot Manager, as a Stores Person you’ll play a key role within the Inventory Management Team, operating in a dynamic engineering environment. You’ll be responsible for all aspects of effectively operating the store, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning of the Bristol Stores operation at all times. Your duties will include although not be limited to; Loading and unloading delivery vehicles Undertaking goods inward inspections booking into inventory system (SAP) as appropriate Storing materials into the correct locations and managing ‘bin’ locations Preparing and picking materials against pre-defined kit lists, delivering to point of use and booking out to defined sub-jobs in inventory system Collecting material not required from point of use areas and returning them to their location and returning in SAP appropriately Returning materials required for overhaul to suppliers, packaged and protected appropriately Forklift driving duties where required Responsibility for ensuring items are maintained and returned as appropriate to relevant supply chain Ensuring good housekeeping and cleanliness in general areas PLEASE NOTE: By clicking apply on this site, you will automatically be redirected to the Deutsche Bahn Group / Arriva TrainCare website, where you will be required to complete an online application form. What will I need to be considered for this Stores Person role? Proven experience working within a stores / materials environment, preferably with experience of using SAP system (or equivalent) Valid forklift (FLT) and driving licence IT literacy with good working knowledge of Excel Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Conversant with inventory control techniques High level of attention to detail whilst working at pace Excellent organisation, time management and communication skills Although not essential, a good understanding of material non-conformance processes and knowledge of the UK rail industry would be advantageous. What will I receive in return? As a Stores Person, you’ll be employed on a 6 month fixed term contract , working full time hours, 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday.
