Reporting to the Procurement Manager for Strategic Projects; this role is responsible for developing and managing compelling sourcing initiatives for complex projects that deliver the best value to Thames Water. Key Accountabilities: Be accountable for establishing effective working relationships with both key stakeholders and the supply market whilst demonstrating Thames Water values and behaviors These projects are typically transformational in nature and value of spending in excess of £50m You will lead strategy development for various sourcing projects whilst ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, achieving optimum risk allocation, best value and fulfilling customers' expectations as well as ensuring compliance with the procurement regulations Lead strategy development for specific complex projects Create compelling and innovative sourcing strategies for complex areas which challenge current ways of working and deliver the best value to Thames Water Lead a multi-disciplinary team through the procurement process with full customer engagement and following Thames Water sourcing methodology Demonstrate that sustainability, innovation and risk management, collaboration, health, and safety & well-being are effectively considered and managed through each initiative Ensure sourcing projects are delivered on time, achieving optimum risk allocation, the best value, and fulfilling customers' expectations Ensure that audit trails, document and information systems, and all supplier information exchanges are effective, with robust confidentiality and traceability, in line with the Procurement Regulations Apply a creative and agile approach to negotiation to deliver the outcome. Build deep and trusting relationships with key stakeholders with an ability to engage and influence at senior levels Create compelling, well-structured, accurate reports, documents, and presentations and effectively deliver to all levels of the business (both internally and externally) Efficiently manage the spending and information gathering process by working with the Business Analyst, suppliers, and third parties To be successful you will have the following skills and experience: We’re excited about meeting passionate and highly energised commercially-minded individuals seeking a new challenge You will have worked in a large complex organisation, within a multi-stakeholder environment, accomplished considerable outputs and have the ability to drive continuous improvement You will have a firm understanding and experience of operating Utilities Contract Regulations 2016 Strong experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams Track record in delivering against stretching benefits targets Experience in managing multi £m business transformational projects Excellent proven commercial and contractual acumen Solid negotiation and dispute resolution skills Self-starter – resilient and tenacious under pressure Experience in programme, project and performance management Outstanding communication skills and customer service ethic Chartered Institute Purchasing and Supply or working towards is desirable What’s in it for you: This is a high-profile role within the business with personal development opportunities, including direct engagement with director-level stakeholders.
