Overview

Summary A role has arisen for an experienced, motivated and proactive individual with a clear interest in investment finance to support one of Partners, the group CFO/COO, as Chief of Staff. The successful candidate will work closely with the Group CFO/COO, supporting them across the firm's new deals, portfolio businesses, and internal finance and enablement functions. The Chief of Staff will also take responsibility for leading a number of major internal projects on behalf of the Group CFO/COO, primarily focused on developing the organisational model, structure and processes to deliver the firms vision and strategy. The full list of such projects involved will take shape as the role evolves, but examples will include: Outlining and reviewing firm-wide organisational capability and processes across the Finance, Legal and HR departments Reviewing and developing the systems and processes the uses to monitor and interact with its portfolio businesses Evaluating and developing processes to track, monitor and engage with the key investors This role provides privileged access to the inner working of the Group CFO/COO, and to highly sensitive information. The successful candidate will be discrete, high-energy, agile-minded, strategic, proactive, a director communicator, highly-organised and committed to the vision and values Skills and Experience Prior experience of a Chief of staff-type role within finance is strongly preferred. Although previous experience in private equity is not required, the candidate should be able to demonstrate that they have attitude and interest to make the most of this unique opportunity. The successful candidate will be extremely organised, whilst remaining an ability to successfully navigate within varying degrees of ambiguity. The role will require working closely and collaboratively with colleagues from across the firm. Diplomacy and resilience, alongside outstanding communication skills, are essential qualities in achieving success in this role. Candidates should be prepared to explain how their previous experience has prepared them for communicating with clarity, confidence and respect in order to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders in a pressurised environment. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate: An excellent academic background, degree educated Experience working in a financial Chief of Staff role, or a clearly comparable position Strong financial literacy and understanding Highly developed communication skills (written and verbal) and strong interpersonal skills that encourage the development of effective relationships across all levels of seniority Excellent judgement A good sense of self and strong personal presence Strong analytical and organisational capabilities A can-do attitude with clear focus on execution and results Tact, diplomacy , resilience, persistence An unquestionable personal code of ethics, integrity and trust Impeccable English skills, grammar and spelling, plus a high level of numeracy
