Overview

My client, a fantastic national Leaning Disabilities charity, is looking for a Deputy manager for their Supported Living service in Stanmore. You will manage and lead a team to ensure the delivery of person-centred support that promotes Independence, choice and dignity to empower people to live as independently as possible, in the lives they choose. You will be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals you support. You will be responsible to promote a culture of openness, honesty and transparency through encouraging the sharing of good practice and recognise areas for improvement. Experience required: Level 5 Social care qualification or willingness to complete the qualifications within a designated time frame. Good knowledge and practical implementation of the Health & Social Care Act Experience supporting Adults with Learning Disabilities and specifically experience supporting Adults with Autism. Ability to recognise, challenge and remedy poor practice. Experience of working at a supervisory level in care/support within the last 2 years. Ability to set and work to deadlines. Management skills to maintain the service to a high standard. Ability to travel independently to various locations across the organisation for training, meetings, cover etc. which may involve overnight stays. Computer skills in Microsoft Office particularly word, excel, outlook and the internet. Ability to demonstrate clear communication skills both verbal and written. Ability to work a variety of shifts across a 24-hour day, 7-day week and 365-day year rota.
