Overview

Finance Administrator North London £15-17 per hour Responsibilities: To undertake a range of business administrative functions to support the smooth functioning of a stand-alone children's centre. To provide an efficient, effective and courteous reception service for the Centre; greeting and directing visitors and taking accurate messages and dealing with queries appropriately. To be responsible for all incoming correspondence to the centre including e-mail enquiries ensuring that all items are logged, monitored and draft responses are written on behalf of the Centre Head/Deputy. To take responsibility for booking appointment and visits for the Centre Head/Deputy ensuring these appointments do not conflict with any other arrangements. To organise and maintain systems for the procurement for the Centre which includes all supplies, services and equipment using electronic procurement system, petty cash and Camden's purchasing card system, dealing with and resolving queries relating to this task ensuring compliance with Camden's Financial Regulations. In conjunction with the Centre Head to be responsible for setting out contracts with parent, calculating payment amounts, collection and banking of fees and income (in line with Camden's Financial Regulations), monitoring and chasing income arrears, liaising with the IEYS Business Manager regarding the debts for fees and income at the Centre, resolving and dealing with queries as required. To support the Head of Centre in the monitoring of budget by preparing the required financial and spreadsheet based information and assisting with monthly forecasting and closure of accounts using Collaborative Planning. To set up and organise meetings and to take and distribute minutes ensuring they are timely and accurate. To support the Head of Centre in the management of the childcare admissions by collecting and compiling applications and contacting parents as necessary. Requirements: Excellent level of literacy and numeracy. Advance knowledge of MS office programmes. An understanding of operational issues facing childcare settings and the client group.
