Overview

We're looking for a candidate to join SilkFred's team as their new Finance Assistant Apprentice. The Finance Assistant role at SilkFred will involve processing invoices, preparing payment runs, dealing with email queries, assisting in the preparation of management accounts. The ideal candidate will be a team player with an eye for detail and a high drive to succeed. A typical day: Communicating with members by email, phone and online chat Check invoices for approval Post invoices on accounting software Reconcile AP accounts Prepare payment runs Respond to AP queries Help with balance sheet reconciliations Bank Reconciliations You must have: Five GCSE grades C - A (4-9) or equivalent, including English and Maths Level 3 qualification (A level, BTEC or equivalent) B at GCSE Maths Skills needed: You have impeccable written and verbal communication skills Strong numeracy Logical mind Strong communication skills. Written and verbal. Organised Interpersonal skills to interact with people across SilkFred including senior management Knowledge of Microsoft Excel essential Perks and benefits: WhiteHat community Pension Training provided: Training on the 18 month Standard Level 3 Assistant Accountant (AAT3) apprenticeship. Future prospects: After your Accounting apprenticeship progress into a full-time role as Junior Finance Assistant, Assistant Accountant, Bookkeeping Assistant, Junior Tax Consultant or Audit Assistant. You can also complete the ACCA qualification into Chartered Accountancy.
