You will be confident building scalable, performant systems that are easy to maintain and support. Experience around Designing, Deploying, Debugging, Testing, Scaling, Securing and Monitoring modern cloud-based systems is desired. A knowledge of or interest in Geospatial data is beneficial but not essential. You will have the opportunity to work with stakeholders, Project Managers and Delivery Managers to help shape the project delivery and lead your team. You will continuously improve the engineering capability in all aspects of the engineering lifecycle through coaching and mentoring. We will encourage you to identify opportunities to maximise development benefit within your team, and to support and improve systems that you have developed. Here’s a snapshot of technologies that you’ll be working with: Azure DevOps, Azure Cloud Services, Databricks/Spark, Big Data, Containers, Container Platforms and Cosmos DB. Our ideal Lead Engineer (Azure, C#, Python) will have the following knowledge, skills and experience: - Software engineering & industry best practice (e.g. SOLID, Agile, TDD, BDD) - Knowledge in one or more of the following: Azure, Azure DevOps, C#, Python, Java, Databricks - System development in Azure cloud environments - Demonstrable ability to lead, coach and mentor engineering teams (including work item management) - Influencing key business & technical stakeholders - Implementing new engineering techniques within development teams - Technical delivery Closing date: Wednesday 1st April Our engineering team is working to develop the next generation of cloud-based systems, that drive our world leading geospatial and business applications.
