Overview

We are looking for an HR Manager to join our Contact Centre team in Sheffield. Candidates must have worked previously in HR Management, be enthusiastic and have great communications skills. Reporting to and supporting the Director of Operations the HR Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the HR for a site of circa 60 employees, that is predicted to grow. We operate four UK rail franchises - Great Western Railway, South Western Railway, TransPennine Express and Avanti West Coast - and one open access passenger rail service, Hull Trains. We also operate the London Trams service on behalf of Transport for London. Central to our aim, our Customer Support Centre will deliver higher service levels for our UK operations. This will be achieved through a detailed understanding of our operations and our customers. State of the art systems will ensure requests are speedily and effectively resolved with access to robust data both for developing strong customer relationships and for continually improving our services. The Customer Support Centre was set up in 2019 and has handled over 1 million contacts from First rail customers. Processing customer delay repay claims and handling customer enquiries, the centre has 75 FTE at present with plans for rapid expansion in 2020 as more customer service functions come on board. Your responsibilities as an HR Managers will be as follows: Recruitment in line with workforce plans Maintaining and developing HR policies and procedures Supporting the Senior management team with transformation and change projects Supporting the safety culture Employee development planning through succession and talent planning Supporting managers with - disciplinary, grievance, capability and sickness procedures Learning and development activities Ensuring compliance to employment legislation Reporting to this role are HR Officer and L&D Officer This fantastic opportunity to join our management team and would suit a dynamic individual, having essential skills, experience and qualifications that will include: At least two years' experience of working as a HR Manager CIPD qualified or equivalent Excellent communication skills Strong knowledge of UK employment law and ACAS best practices Ability to influence and persuade The ability to communicate effectively with, and guide senior members of staff confidently Interested?
