Overview
Mercury Talent are delighted to be recruiting for a volunteer co-ordinator for a leading charity based on the outskirts of West Byfleet. This role is initially offered as a 6 month contract role The ideal person will have worked or volunteered for a charity previously however this is advantageous and not essential. You must however have previous customer service and administration experience. Excellent communication skills are essential for the role as a good standard of Microsoft Excel. Attention to detail and the ability to organise your workload as well as work to deadlines are key. Reporting to the Charity Volunteer manager your daily responsibilities will include: Managing volunteer adverts as well as various volunteer promotions Liasing with volunteers to answer any queries and contact all previous volunteers to tell them about new events Build relationships with business and local universities to encourage volunteer participation Assisting in enrolling new volunteers with a high degree of accuracy Preparing documentation for charity events including maps and other materials to ensure the event is a success Working closely with the event team and participating or helping at the events ( this will require some weekend working during event season ) In return you will be offered a competitive salary of £25k with excellent benefits including 25 days holiday as well as flexitime working hours between 8am and 6pm - 37.5 hours per week.
