Job Description
" Laurel Court provides a safe environment for people with learning disabilities to live independently in Huddersfield. Our goal is to enable our customers to reach their potential, build on life skills and increase quality of life through person-centred planning. We offer a holistic programme designed for positive impact on wellbeing, with a therapeutic sensory garden, allotments and communal cooking sessions. We would welcome volunteers to take the lead and oversee a large allotment which is a 15 minute walk away from the scheme. You will work alongside adults with learning disabilities and the staff team at Laurel court, creating a safe and fun environment. Growing Vegetables and fruit creating a sensory garden which we be a truly rewarding use of your time. To apply for this volunteer role it is essential you have previous experience of gardening and allotments We are looking for people with: • Good communication and listening skills and a non-judgmental approach. • The ability to relate to people. • A positive attitude. • Good timekeeping and reliability. • Maintain professional boundaries at all times Safeguarding and DBS checks will be completed for all successful applicants before commencement of the placement. You will also need to provide one positive reference.
