Non-conformance Stress Engineer

Overview
Altran are looking for Stress Engineers to join on a permanent basis in our offices in Filton. Your role Tasks and activities will include the following: Assessing impact of an item of non-conformance on suitability to meet component requirements and the impact on performance at system level Sentence a concession or repair with a rational and justified engineering statement Perform hand calcs to support conclusions Perform FE analysis provide in depth findings Assessing Engineering drawings Following procedures and specifications Liaising with non-conformance specialists Design for Manufacture Applying manufacturing and quality specifications and assigning notes Performing post-processing and generating appropriate outputs Carrying out various types of analysis based on the above, i.e. static stress, fatigue, life assessments, optimisation, etc. Assessing suitability of repair and concession activities Presenting and reporting progress and results, externally and internally Maintaining direct working relationships with clients and represent both your work and the work of team members during client meetings Your profile Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in an engineering or scientific discipline, ideally mechanical Experience of stress engineering for airframe or aero-engine systems and all associated components required Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing process desirable Manufacturing, Producibility and Concession process experience Ability to work quickly and accurately to follow client needs Liaising with specialist teams Team player, able to work effectively and to short timescales with others in a busy engineering centre Proactive attitude and ability to communicate and report at different levels Excellent communication skills with a good level of verbal and written English Possess customer interaction skills In addition to the culture and career development opportunities at Altran, we offer a matched pension scheme, healthcare and generous holiday allowance.
