Overview
Altran are looking to recruit a design engineer with knowledge of non-conformance and repair within an aerospace/marine engineering background. Your role Assessing impact of an item of non-conformance on the form fit and function of the component and impact on performance at system level Assessing engineering drawings Sentence a concession or repair with a rational and justified engineering statement Assessing and processing Safety Alert Reports (SAR) Produce Drawing Alteration Request (DAR) documentation to pass to Product Definition Group (PDG) for drawing updates Following procedures and specifications Perform tolerancing calculations and bolt checks etc. Liaising with non-conformance specialists Design for Manufacture Applying manufacturing and quality specifications and assigning notes Each role is focussed on one or more of the following topics: Producibility Non Conformance assessments & sentencing (NCE) Producibility Design assessments & sentencing (Project Design NCE) Safety Alert Report (SAR) assessments & sentencing Acceptance Request (AR) assessments and sentencing (Project Design) Technical Acceptance Document (TAD) Product Definition Group (PDG) activity Your profile Experience of design of aero/marine-engine systems and all associated components (e.g. compressor, turbine, combustor, bearings, seals, casings, fitting parts etc.) Knowledge of aerospace/marine manufacturing process desirable Manufacturing, Producibility, Concession, NCE, SAR, DAR, TAD, AR, PDG, process experience desirable Ability to work quickly and accurately to follow client needs Liaising with specialist teams (stress, materials) Team player, able to work effectively and to short timescales with others in a busy engineering centre Excellent communication skills with a good level of verbal and written English Proactive attitude and ability to communicate and report at different levels In addition to the culture and career development opportunities at Altran, we offer a matched pension scheme, healthcare and generous holiday allowance.
