Overview

Acorn is seeking a Governance and Assurance Officer on behalf of the NHS in Hackney, London. They are looking for a confident self-starter who can step into this temporary role and be a great member of a team. This role will primarily be home and remote work based. Responsibilities: The post holder will work within the Governance and Assurance Team to provide the CCG with effective and efficient delivery of governance and support business continuity processes for the organisation. Development of team level policies and processes and systems of work in support of and reflective of those of the wider organisation. Working across the team to ensure that all corporate and governance tools and documents are up-to-date and shared appropriately across the CCG, acting as the first point of contact with regards to the use of these by colleagues. Supporting the CCG in following its business continuity processes, working with teams across the organisations to identify and address needs and interfacing with partner organisations to provide assurance on the CCGs resilience. Supporting the team to ensure that the CCG is fully compliant with all statutory requirements, principles of good governance and with its own Constitution. Keep the CCG's formal Committee Terms of Reference up to date and in line with legislation, NHS England guidance, local needs and best practice. Support the CCGs strategy for managing any resulting impact on our governance arrangements. Manage conflicts of interest matters and field queries on a day to day basis. Support the CCG's work on emergency planning and business resilience. Person specification: Substantial knowledge of NHS corporate governance. Substantial knowledge of Policy Management. Strong understanding of risk and risk management within a relevant context. Understanding and appreciation of the management of conflicts of interest. Substantial experience of working within the NHS, or equivalent type of organisation. Experience of working on business continuity policies and processes. Good project management and planning skills. Good skills in persuading and influencing others. Excellent time management, organisational and administrative skills. Ability to organise and prioritise own work load and meet deadlines. Research skills & ability to solve complex and sensitive problems. This is a full-time temporary position currently until the end of June. It is a Band 7 role paying £20.37 an hour.
