We have the job for you About the role You will manage a complex caseload of individuals requiring functional assessments and identify necessary interventions which may include, moving and handling, postural support and adaptations, to make a real difference to our service users. You will also supervise and support qualified and non-qualified staff and students. As this is a senior role, you will be expected to have excellent skills in developing and supporting staff and supervisory experience. We have roles in our friendly and busy Welling Hub and Locality Team. The Advice and Wellbeing Hub supports individuals who are new to Social Services to continue to meet the outcomes that are important to them, using innovative approaches. The Locality Team is highly skilled at working with people with long term conditions and complex needs. Both teams support individuals to remain in their own homes and maximise their independence using a strengths-based approach working with the individual to find solutions. You will use equipment, adaptations, new techniques and OT interventions to support the individual. You will have access to our Learning and Development programme and be supported in your career and personal growth with opportunities to learn and develop new clinical skills, helping you to build your Continuing Professional Development portfolio, extending your skills and supporting you to grow as a therapist. As a Senior Occupational Therapist you will have access to Reading Borough Councils leadership training and extensive inhouse and bespoken OT training. OTs have had opportunity this year to undertake a variety of training including AMPS, Positive Behavioural Support, EDGE Complex Moving and Handling and specialist adaptation training. You will be based at The Avenue Centre, Conwy Close, Reading, RG30 4BZ - Parking available plus multiple bus routes direct from the Town Centre You will work within the legal framework provided by the statute, guidance, policies and procedures. You will need to have: A degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy. HCPC registration.
