Building on a record year in 2019 with more than 2,500 units sold, LEVC is forecasting a 50% increase in demand in 2020. In line with the company’s export strategy, LEVC will more than double its market presence, with plans to be operating in 20 countries by the end of the year. In order to meet the company’s 2020 growth strategy, over 100 new jobs will be created at its headquarters in Ansty, near Coventry. CHANGE IMPLEMENTATION ENGINEER Department – Operations – Product Compliance Reporting to – Change Implementation Manager Location – Ansty Business Park, Coventry The Change Implementation Engineer will play a key role in supporting the Change Implementation Manager in managing and implementing engineering changes. They will support Operations, Engineering Function groups, Supply chain and Programme Management teams in defining, creating, scheduling, maintaining and controlling Engineering Changes fed to the business ERP system (Epicor) through the business change management tool (PuCR). As part of the Change Implementation team, they will liaise with business functions and support maintenance and update of Manufacturing BoM (Bill of Material) as it transitions from Engineering BoM into the Manufacturing BoM, ensuring that all changes conform to Engineering Change requests raise in the systems and Waivers agreed by all stake holders. Role Support of Change Management activities. Manage Change and associated processes across multiple projects; creating workflows, establishing priorities, best practice and KPI. Coordination of BoM activities including; Engineering Change Review, Release Review and Waivers on behalf of the Change Implementation team. Assisting in implementing and maintaining new parts, variant models and Service BoMs from conception through to Aftersales and (End of Live of Vehicle) ELV. Extraction and examination of Manufacturing BoM information to support business requirements. Running mini projects on complex New product introductions and supporting line trials in production environment Responsibilities To ensure that Engineering Changes to manufactured vehicles, are introduced using a timely, structured & systematic approach; managing a consistent process to provide an always-accurate Manufacturing BoM. Engineering Change activities to support the addition or deletion of old, new or modified parts. Creation of strategies and timing plans to introduce the change in production, liaising with all necessary business stake holders. Support and document Change Implementation meetings to provide feedback on New part introduction. Control, management and update of Change content and attributes within ERP environment. Ensure Issue Reports (TlMs), Change Requests (ECRs), Change Orders (ECOs/COs), Waivers (WAFs) and other processes are concisely reported for KPl’s and are tracked through to a satisfactory conclusion. Act as Point of Contact for and respond to Change Management related queries raised by other areas, ensuring timely and accurate problem resolution. Maintain the integrity of the Change and change introduction processes to reflect the ongoing business requirements. Identify and build associations within industrial partners to develop efficient Engineering Change Coordination. Deliverables Maintain Process, Procedures, Metrics and status reports. Maintaining concurrent BoM status within the ERP system. Manufacturing BoM validation and data analysis. Assist and report KPIs to senior management. Assist continuous improvement of the Change Implementation system. Skills Experience in engaging with BoM, PLM and ERP applications. MS Office literate, including Excel (with some ability related to understanding formulae, data indexing, data lookup, Macro’s etc.), Word and PowerPoint with charts and other functions. Experience and knowledge with Part structures, Change principles and Change Implementation. Experience and understanding of inter-dependencies between Issues, Change Requests, eBoM/mBoM/sBoM and downstream systems such as ERP. Ability to work independently when necessary. Capability to engage with multiple departments and work closely with people to improve data quality. Minimum of 3 years Automotive experience within a similar/related role or industry. Flexible and willing to accept challenging and sometimes diverse activities to maintain project deliverables.
