Overview

Kennedys is looking for a Knowledge Lawyer to join our Knowledge Management team in London on a six month contract. The purpose of the role is to support Kennedys lawyers in accessing the knowledge they need in order to maintain a high standard of service offered to the Firm’s clients. Team The role sits within a central Knowledge Management team within the wider Business Services function and is based in London. Kennedys Knowledge Management team help ensure that all of our legal teams are kept up to date with developments in the law, procedure and practice and continually work on initiatives centred around growing a knowledge sharing culture. The Knowledge Management team comprises three functions - Knowledge Services; Information Services and Legal Technical Training. This role sits under the 'Knowledge Services’ area of KM working alongside another Knowledge Lawyer who collectively support all of our lawyers across our ten UK offices. Key Responsibilities Monitoring and communicating changes in Civil Procedure to keep lawyers up to date with the law and practice Reviewing and updating core precedent collections and working with Kennedys IT team to ensure these changes are accurately reflected in Kennedys case management system Developing and maintaining online knowledge hubs/repositories for the sharing of specific legal expertise, specialisms and insights Gathering, reviewing and organising collections of useful knowledge for fee earners, including managing legal taxonomies and the process of capturing such knowledge across the Firm Supporting and encouraging knowledge sharing activities and behaviours across groups and teams. Required experience Civil litigation experience/working knowledge of CPR essential Professional indemnity insurance experience a distinct advantage Strong legal drafting skills and the ability to communicate complex issues with clarity Good technical skills (confident with Microsoft applications as a minimum) and a demonstrable interest in technology solutions Strong legal research skills Previous Knowledge Lawyer/Practice Development Lawyer/Professional Support Lawyer experience a distinct advantage.
