Job Description

KTN is seeking to recruit an exceptional individual to help deliver knowledge transfer and other activities, aimed at stimulating innovation in specific sectors, technologies or cross-cutting themes to grow the UK economy. The role will provide technical capability and market expertise in the field of the Digital Economy, with particular attention to high growth technology and innovation-led business interaction, Innovate UK support and engagement with relevant Research Councils and other UK digital sector stakeholders and leadership bodies around the UK. Reporting to the Head of Digital Economy & Creative Industries, this role is available at home or office-based with considerable UK travel expected when safely permitted post Covid-19 lockdown. KTN continues its business operations successfully delivering programmes and daily business via online tools and web-based activities. * To lead and be a team member in specific tasks which support innovation and business growth in the Digital Economy, (including supporting the ongoing delivery of our business membership networks in Immersive Technology: ImmerseUK and 5G technologies: UK5G) * To develop and maintain knowledge of high growth potential businesses in the UK Digital Economy. * To directly engage with businesses providing support through access to funding and making new connections and collaborations * To directly engage with business communities through our networks and sector development growth projects * To engage businesses with the UK research and innovation assets, including Catapults and Research Centres * To track progress of businesses to determine outcomes resulting from KTN interventions, seeking case studies and metrics (KPI) capture * To maintain a strong relationship with relevant counterparts in Innovate UK, Research Councils and relevant sector stakeholders * To plan and deliver dissemination, scoping and networking meetings, encouraging cross-community involvement where possible * To seek opportunities for KTN, with potential for new and additional revenue * To contribute to KTN wide communications (e.g. yammer, Zoom) and projects, helping colleagues as required * To support KPI delivery and provide regular reporting of activity and outcomes. Requirements * Relevant industrial experience and/or degree qualified or higher (or equivalent) * Demonstrated experience of working in and/or with Digital Economy Businesses. * Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, with good external profile. * Demonstrable experience in a number of business environments that span a range of functions including R&D, innovation and technology led business development and growth. * Results oriented and demonstrated delivery capability, including for complex projects * Strong communication skills, verbal and written * Adaptability and openness to work in new emerging business niches and across other relevant business sectors * Demonstrated teamwork - able to both lead and be part of effective teams.
