Senior Data Scientist Reading £70,000 - £85,000 This is an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Data Scientist to work for a global fintech company in Reading THE COMPANY This fintech company focus on providing software to make transactions simpler and safer for their clients - they work with over 1000 companies across over 90 different countries, so they are a leading company in their industry. They have recently promoted their Senior Data Scientist, so they are now looking for someone to come in at this level and be the next most senior in the team. You'd be involved in mentoring the two junior data scientists and helping the team build machine learning models at a large scale focusing on fraud detection and anomaly detection projects. It's a great step for career progression working for a global business with a good reputation. THE ROLE As a Senior Data Scientist for the business you will: Analyse data and build predictive models You will use Machine Learning techniques to for fraud detection and anomaly detection You will be a key point of contact for all Data Science queries in the business and liaise with senior stakeholders You will mentor junior team members and lead on projects, acting as manager when the Head of Data Science isn't present in the office SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Strong academic background in a relevant field Team management or mentoring / coaching experience An excellent understanding of and experience with statistical or machine learning techniques Experience working in fintech is beneficial as any experience with fraud detection and anomaly detection would be useful Tech: Python, SQL SALARY AND BENEFITS Basic salary £70,000 - £85,000 Benefits package and flexible working HOW TO APPLY Please register your interest for this role by sending your CV to Rosie O'Callaghan via the apply link on this page
