Overview

As a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner you will work with adults on an individual face-to-face basis or through facilitating therapeutic groups and work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages and should be committed to equal opportunities. A large part of your role will be to assess a service user's suitability for evidence based psychological interventions. You will be delivering a wide range of Cognitive Behavioural therapy based interventions to those individuals presenting with mild to moderate depression and anxiety. The post holder will have a team work approach and be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the organisation and will be required to work between locations as agreed Responsibilities Provide assessment and low intensity interventions which may include guided self-help, CBT and group work (CBT based) Group Psycho-educational workshops and computerised CBT. Undertake patient-centred interviews which identify areas where the individual wishes to see change and or recovery and make an accurate assessment of risk to self and others. Assess and support prisoners with a common mental health problem in the self- management of their recovery. Ensure quality standards are maintained in the delivery of the service. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Experience of undertaking CBT assessments and delivering CBT and low intensity interventions Working with people with mental health difficulties and people in primary care. A thorough understanding of Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) and the concept of stepped care Qualifications IAPT low Intensity qualification or have completedPWP training course accredited by the BPS Knowledge, Skills and Experience Experience of working within the criminal justice sector.
