Overview

Our client is a FTSE 100 technology and media business that provides a search platform and online marketplace for thousands of customers nationwide. Despite having grown to be a substantial listed business, they have managed to maintain an entrepreneurial feel, owing to the fact that they operate in a lean, dynamic and collaborative environment. We are currently seeking to recruit a Financial Reporting Manager who will have responsibility for all aspects of financial reporting, taxation, and technical accounting issues. This will include managing the year end and half year statutory reporting processes, overseeing the preparation of the tax returns (which are outsourced), preparing the annual R&D tax claim, and taking the lead on emerging technical reporting and compliance issues. This position will manage the audit process and have the day to day relationship with their auditors, as well as be the key contact for their outsourced Internal Audit function. The Financial Reporting Manager will be responsible for the management of banking facilities and relationships with banking partners too. The role will be split between offices in Milton Keynes and London 50:50. Although if you would rather more time in the Milton Keynes office this would be fine. The successful candidate will be a high quality ACA qualified accountant coming from a top professional services firm with an excellent academic track record. You will currently be a senior Manager or Senior Manager in an Audit, Assurance, or equivalent team. Alternatively, you may have already made the move into industry and are coming from a Financial Reporting team in another blue chip company. The Financial Reporting Manager will need strong financial reporting experience and be up to date with the latest technical accounting developments. The role also requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with professional advisers, as well as with key stakeholders in the business. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual to take on either a first move into industry or a more autonomous, hands-on challenge within a lean FTSE 100 finance function.
