Job title: Restaurant & Bars Manager Salary: Up to 26,000 GBP Location: Ambleside, Cumbria Type of contract: Permanent Workplace description: Set in the ancient beauty of the Gilpin Valley, with 72 acres of private woodland, this traditional Inn offers individually designed rooms and classic British menus using the best local seasonal ingredients. Main duties and responsibilities: Implement and maintain Restaurant and Bar standards of performance across the department. Ensure all customers receive the highest possible standard of care through maintaining and implementing clear SOP’s within the Restaurant and Bar operation. Optimise time on the floor by carrying out one to one coaching & training and group training sessions to improve employee confidence in dealing with customers and selling hotel products and services Monitor all revenue & control procedures. In liaison with the Financial Controller, be responsible for security of beverage stock ensuring budgeted beverage cost of sale is achieved. Keep tight control of wages in line with business levels through forecasting, analysis and correct payroll procedures. Be hands on with operational duties as required, supporting all F & B departments Be responsible for Health & Safety issues in department Undertake all appraisals and performance reviews of Restaurant and Bar employees. Be responsible for the Departments revenues creating a sales culture within the Bars and Restaurant so as to meet budgeted revenue targets. Carry out Duty Management as required. Assist the Operations Manager as required. Essential criteria: To be successful in the role of Restaurant and Bar Manager, you must have: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a quality hotel, including experience in all F & B departments (Rest/Bar/ Room Service/ Conference & Banqueting) Excellent spoken and written English and good Administration skills Previous Supervisory or Management experience Proven training skills essential, PTC/GTC preferred Good Health and Safety knowledge essential, ideally Intermediate level qualification Experience in one to one coaching & performance review management Self-motivated – and able to motivate others Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a professional manner Totally flexible in hours Accommodation provided: No I would like to thank you for your interest shown in this position.
