About the role Reporting to: Head of IT Operations Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday Key Technologies: vSphere, Kubernetes, Oracle Database, Microsoft O365, & Cloud (AWS and Azure) Summary: A robust, scalable and resilient IT infrastructure is vital to Hargreaves Lansdown (HL) and its success. The Enterprise Infrastructure Architect will help ensure that HL has an infrastructure that is able to support the delivery of our technology strategy and the next phase of HLs growth. The role will guide the design and successful implementation of technology change whilst closely collaborating with our technology teams. You will report directly into the Head of IT Operations and work closely with other architecture and change colleagues. Key Duties And Responsibilities: Working with the wider architecture and technology teams to ensure that technology solutions work in our environment; Co-owning the overall Enterprise Architecture with other architecture colleagues. Be an integral part of the technical design authority and Enterprise Architecture functions which work to ensure that our solutions are aligned to the technology strategy. Identifying, documenting and owning the technical/infrastructure architecture vision, roadmap, principles, polices, guidelines, standards and deliverables, ensuring communication of these across the organisation. Identifying emerging technologies and understanding potential opportunities they might offer. Controlling technology diversity, ensuring that new technology is introduced appropriately, and where new technology is deployed it is done so in accordance with best practice. As a subject matter expert, you will guide the teams around you by providing input on best practice and industry standard approaches to ensure that the solutions we implement are scalable, sustainable, and of the highest quality. Requirements Essential Skills & Experience: 5 or more years’ experience as a Technology Architect Hold or working towards Enterprise Architecture Framework qualification e.g. TOGAF Experience working in an infrastructure engineering role with technologies such as VMWare, Kubernetes, Oracle, O365, and Cloud infrastructure Demonstrable architecture experience, including establishing enterprise architecture and broader architecture capabilities in an organisation Demonstrable business, process, data and system modelling and analysis experience Excellent knowledge of the infrastructure/technology architecture domain and associated architectural frameworks Good knowledge of IT architecture principles and approaches Good knowledge of enterprise technologies, their strengths and weaknesses and how they should be effectively applied Solid understanding of business change and software delivery lifecycle processes Cloud technologies including SaaS, PaaS and IaaS Expertise in the practice of enterprise architecture Influencing and stakeholder management skills across all levels of the organisation including CXO level Desirable Skills & Experience: Experience in use of business architecture modelling languages and tools Good experience of using MS products Familiarity with the Atlassian product suite, specifically JIRA and Confluence Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulation Good knowledge of financial services sector, wealth market and advisory services Good understanding of software design and delivery principles
