Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a Network Architect to be an integral part of the success of a major nationwide £500m Radio and Control Room upgrade to all Ambulance Service Trusts across the UK, covering voice, data, fixed and mobile (2G/3G/4G/LTE) networks as part of an end-to-end managed service. This a senior technical position, acting as a SME and translating complex technical issues and forming the link between the technical space and the business stakeholders within the Programme. Home based UK travel on a regular basis (circa 3 days a week), with all out of home costs fully expensed. £52,306 to £60,983 DOE plus generous NHS benefits inc. 27% Pension. The Network Architect will: Be the technical specialist for mobile data solutions and manage the following aspects: capacity management, availability management, quality management, configuration management, change management, risk and issue management. Build strong relationships with Ambulance Trusts, as well as other users of the current Airwave service in order to ensure a smooth transition to the new service. Provide assistance and guidance to ambulance trusts as required, and act as interface with the rest of the in life and programme teams. The Network Architect will have demonstrative experience of: Proven networking experience to CCNP level in the field of Networking, gathering, options appraisal and technical/operational testing. Experience in mobile communications (2G/3G/4G/LTE) would be desirable. Ability to work to proven methodologies including TOGAF, Prince 2 and ITIL. Excellent communication and stakeholder skills - negotiation, motivational, interpersonal and listening skills and an empathic understanding of other people's point of view and the ability to frame and sell solutions that are not always 'win/win'.
