The Role We have an exciting opportunity for a Research and Evaluation Officer to join our UK Evaluation Team on a temporary basis to complete a bespoke piece of work. You will review, synthesise evidence and crystallise insights from over 100 evaluation reports from a range of large-scale funded programmes. You will work closely with our Evaluation Managers in a small cross-organisation team generating evidence for the Fund and the sector about what makes a difference in supporting thriving people and communities. You will take a lead in synthesising evidence from reports the team has supported to date, identifying key insights, and generating accessible and engaging documents or other products to share evidence and inspire action. The role involves: Reviewing, analysing and synthesising evidence from across a range of reports. Identifying common findings and themes, as well as potential gaps, particularly related to evidence about the Fund's purpose. Identifying interesting, engaging and actionable insights. Engaging others in generating insights, including colleagues in Evaluation and Knowledge and Learning Teams, as well as funding teams. Producing audience-focused accessible reports, summaries and/or other products. Skills and experience Strong critical thinking, social research and analysis skills, with good attention to detail. Experience of secondary research and evidence synthesis, for example carrying out literature or evidence reviews. Curiosity and passion for the voluntary and community sector. Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, and take personal responsibility for overcoming challenges and deliver to a fixed deadline. A confident communicator, both verbally and in writing, with creativity and flair to produce engaging copy in range of formats.
