A fantastic opportunity has arisen with a mid-size London law firm for a junior to mid-level solicitor specialising in intellectual property disputes. The IP Litigation team covers all aspects of IP including trade marks infringement actions and prosecution work in the IPO and EUIPO, passing off, designs, copyright, database right, confidential information and data privacy. The team also advises clients on brand protection and some reputation management work for corporate and individual clients. In addition, the team often handles some commercial matters including breach of contract and works closely with the non-contentious commercial lawyers to assist with contractual wording in commercial agreements the firm's IP know-how and marketing. The firm is looking for someone with a minimum of 2 years' post qualified experience who has a genuine interest in contentious IP work and who would enjoy taking on a variety of work as well as client contact and responsibility for matters at an early stage. As a contentious solicitor, candidates will also have the opportunity to be involved in related commercial or licensing disputes which very often arise alongside IP matters. The team has a diverse and very interesting client base including a multi- billion pound retailer, a large US tech business, an international hotelier, major global advertising agencies, gaming companies, charities and wholesalers. Essential skills sought for the role include experience of dispute resolution practice and conduct of cases in the High Court including the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court) (familiarity with Court procedures is key) as well as knowledge of IP law, especially in relation to trade marks.
