Overview

You will be working in the busy Business Development who are responsible for identifying, researching and qualifying prospects. They create the target pipeline, develop value propositions, prepare pitches and tenders. In order to be successful in this role you will already have a track record in coordinating bid responses, ideally across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. Our client needs someone who understands the importance of qualifying and pursuing the right opportunities that will generate new clients. You have excellent communication skills and will be adept at building strong, collaborative internal relationships with key partners, fee earners and other business support teams. Our client is seeking a candidate who already has a good understanding of business development principles. Your role: Working directly with the legal teams, Head of Business Development, Head of Client Relationships, Senior Bid Executive, the wider BD team and the in-house Graphic Designer to produce engaging and innovative tender responses. Monitoring and identifying new tender opportunities. It is important that the person in this role can quickly progress their understanding of the firm and by working with the Senior can proactively qualify opportunities, whilst also involving the relevant stakeholders in this qualification process. Co-ordinating the bid process from end-to-end, providing guidance on how to respond to RFPs and bringing new ideas and approaches to the process. They will be responsible for championing a best practice approach to pitching throughout to ensure strategic opportunities are maximised including briefing calls, preparation meetings and pitch rehearsals. Working with the Senior Bid Executive to provide strategic advice in relation to key messaging, positioning and pricing. Responsible for sourcing and updating credentials, CVs, practice group awards and accolades for inclusion in pitch documents. Working with the Senior Business Development Executive and Senior Bid Executive to put together client research packs. Assist with coaching fee earners on pitch presentation and delivery. Obtaining feedback on all tender opportunities and conducting debriefs, both with the client and the internal bid team, collating and analysing the feedback to continuously improve the tender process. Use InterAction to track and record all pitch responses. Deliver quarterly pitch analysis and identify key leanings to take forward. The person: Educated to degree level or equivalent Marketing qualification preferred (eg CIM) Work experience in the professional services sector preferred, legal desirable. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Knowledge of InterAction and Inter Design preferred, but not essential. Strong planning/organisational skills, with a systematic approach to the work and an absolute attention to detail. Curious by nature and willingness to develop and continue learning. Understanding of 'buyer behaviour' and client experience management - the psychology of the client and how service can match needs. Team player. Flexible and able to use own initiative. Creative Strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills. Ability to immediately win trust, influence and establish credibility at senior levels.
