Would you be interested in supporting vulnerable young people in a school-based setting? Can you commit to a long-term on-going contract and provide consistency In a Youth Worker role? The Role - Youth Worker This Youth Worker role is to start after Easter working with an alternative provision in Wandsworth. The role will require you to find new and innovative ways to support vulnerable young people. Many of the pupils have statements and have either family issues or other issues that have led them to being excluded from mainstream schools. As a Youth Worker you will have had previous experience mentoring on a 1:1 basis as well as holding group sessions/workshops to help combat issues revolving around challenging behaviour. In addition, if you have prior experience working alongside and feeding back to parents and external bodies that would be desirable. The School - Youth Worker The School is located in Wandsworth and is linked well with train lines and local buses. The school is an alternative provision with approximately 75 places. The school gets referral all over the borough and will be seeking a flexible and passionate Youth Worker who can commit to the long term needs of the students. The Role is initially long term on-going but there is potentially for this to be extended to a permanent contract directly with the school after termly reviews with the school.
