As a Case Manager for the Youth Offending Service you will be adept at managing a varied case load relating to youth justice and will work innovatively with young people from diverse backgrounds and engage them and their families and other professionals in order to assess, develop and deliver intervention and activities that support their personal and social skills and participation in society. The successful candidate will directly contribute to youth offending service outcomes by creatively engaging young people who are subject to youth justice orders and also who are at risk of anti-social behaviour, crime, becoming NEET and substance misuse. We are the first YOS to be rated outstanding in London, in the recent YOT inspection report by HMIP. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS. To be considered for this exciting position it is essential that you have substantial experience of direct work with young people who are considered to be at risk. This will include those who are at risk of crime, anti-social behaviour, NEET, SEND, exploitation etc. You will possess previous experience of direct work with young people and their families ensuring you deliver high quality services and interventions. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of approaches to young people's development and a good understanding of youth justice systems including national standards and scaled approach and evidence of effective practice that build desistance and resilience. It is paramount that you have comprehensive knowledge of the role of the YOS in both Youth Court and Crown Courts. You must have a proven ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and be able to write clear and concise reports within a youth justice environment to fixed timescales.
