Overview

Finance Officer role Your new company You will be working for a large Central Government organisation. Your new role Your role will consist of two parts: Technical: You will be responsible for cash book positing, daily book postings, daily Accounts Receivable and BACS processing. You will clear and reconcile the Authority's Suspense Accounts. You will assist with the preparation of monthly monitoring/ reconciliation reports. You will assist with the preparation of Value Added Tax returns. Advisory: You will provide advice and guidance on accounting for Value Added Tax and the Organisation's Accounting System. You will act as a point of contact for banking details and arrangement for payment and receipt of funds. What you'll need to succeed: You will need to have experience in practical accounting/ finance including maintaining and developing computerised financial systems. You will need to be able to use a wide range of IT systems (e.g. Microsoft Windows, Word, Access, Excel, Outlook and accounting software). Have an up to date knowledge of VAT accounting. Have awareness of current local government accounting principals and procedures. You will have had experience of working in finance in a large organisation.
