Overview
Financial Controller North London Salary 45-60k Benefits Medium sized contractor based in North London are looking for a Financial Controller to prepare financial statements and oversee their finance function. You would be reporting directly to the board with the potential to achieve promotion to Finance Director on the retirement of the current incumbent. You will need to be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with significant experience, preferably some of that experience being in the construction industry. You will need to have the ambition and confidence to be prepared to take on the Finance Director position within 1 to 2 years. You will also need to be flexible enough to work within a small management team, learning new skills as required. Responsibilities: Prepare budgets and forecasts in conjunction with senior managers Produce monthly management accounts Prepare monthly project costs and forecast profitability Monitor and control cash flow Manage the accounts team (currently 2 employees) Prepare financial statements and oversee the external audit Advise senior management on the financial implications of their decisions Oversee payroll and pensions Complete all government returns Requirements: Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or part qualified (studying towards ACA, ACCA or CIMA) Industry experience preferably in construction In-depth experience of risk analysis, budgeting and forecasting Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and practices Proficient in the use of IT packages including Office and finance software An analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude Excellent communication skills Keen eye for detail Organisational and leadership skills Please contact me for further information
